Abstract for Panel Panel Two:  University Faculty for Life and Its Long Island Chapter: Goals, History, Activities, and Future

Activities and Future of Faculty for Life

Efforts to educate the academic community as a whole about pro-life principles often runs into either passionate ideology or tired apathy.  Bringing discussion and novel perspectives to the debate can sometimes preempt well-known and thoroughly argued positions.  The rapid advancement of technology combined with real-world moral problems brought to the public eye can serve to illuminate the basic moral principles that people rely on to think about and debate pro-life questions.  Academia should be the place where this discussion is most welcome.  Some of Faculty For Life’s programs have been successful in starting this discussion again.
