The Principles of Attachment Between the Parent and the Child as a

Sacrament of the Heavenly Father’s Relationship with His Children

Attachment parenting experts, bolstered by recent brain study research, posit that the bond between parent and child is foundational to the power to parent throughout childhood.  They also warn about the epidemic trend amongst Western youth to attach and orient themselves to their peer group instead of parents due to various sociological trends.  As Catholics, we understand that human relationships are a reflection of God’s relationships with his Children.  If these secular studies are true then that reflection should be readily apparent.  Michael Jarecki and Ian Butler intend to present a two part series outlining basic attachment principles that apply both on the level of the human parent and child as well as between God the Father and all of his children.
