Servant Christology

This paper explores the call to service and servanthood for the Catholic Church today, because of the life of Jesus, especially as proclaimed in the Gospel of Mark 9:35 " if anyone wishes to be first,he should be the last of all and the servant of all". The theological and historical meaning of the term servant is explored, showing and grounding the term and in scripture, as steaming from the historical Jesus, thereby demonstrating validity and veracity for this message and the implications for the universal Catholic Church today.
